LANSING, MI – July 1, 2025 – Joshua S. Goodrich, J.D., LL.M., founder of Lighthouse Litigation PLLC, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF), one of the nation’s most prestigious honorary organizations dedicated to advancing justice through research and leadership in the legal profession.
The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation is an exclusive global society of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars whose professional achievements and public service demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership is limited to less than 1% of attorneys licensed to practice in each jurisdiction and is based on peer nomination and approval by the ABF board.
Goodrich’s election to the Fellows recognizes his impactful work across civil rights litigation, privacy and cybersecurity law, and public interest advocacy. Through his firm Lighthouse Litigation PLLC, based in Kalamazoo and Lansing, Michigan, Goodrich has represented clients in complex matters involving data privacy, tenant rights, First and Fourth Amendment violations, and employment discrimination.
Goodrich is also a federally admitted civil rights attorney and currently serves as a Pro Bono Mediator for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan in prisoner civil rights cases. His recent litigation includes multiple Section 1983 trials and appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Beyond his legal advocacy, he is a dedicated educator, serving as a faculty member in cybersecurity and computer networking at Western Michigan University Haworth College of Business.
“I am honored to be recognized by the American Bar Foundation alongside so many of the nation’s most dedicated legal professionals,” said Goodrich. “This distinction reinforces my commitment to using the law as a tool to promote fairness, transparency, and justice—particularly for those who are too often unheard or unseen.”
Goodrich holds multiple advanced law degrees, including a J.D., two LL.M. degrees, and is ABD in a Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.). He is a licensed attorney in Michigan and is admitted to practice before the US Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, the Federal Circuit, U.S. Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court, a certified mediator across multiple disciplines, a licensed professional investigator, and a nationally recognized expert in privacy and cyber risk.
